The Halal Hut Centereach

Stopped by this place today, and was greeted by friendly staff. They asked me if I wanted to sample some of the meats which took me by surprise and was actually a nice gesture. I ended up ordering the grilled chicken over rice with assorted toppings and white sauce. The chicken was very fresh and tender. Compared to shah's which can be a hit or miss of dry wet meat. As well, portions were very generous. I consider myself a person who eats more than an American sized portion, and I still couldn't finish the platter. Overall, this place is definitely worth the stop. Different palate compared to Shah's but everything was fresh and the service was phenomenal. -Updating this review to say this place is still one of the best Halal spots locally. Portion sizes are amazing. Cod was fresh, the fries were on spot as well. Just make sure to park in the Dunkin Donuts parking Lot

Tonight I met one of the nicest guys at a little tiny halal place by my dog groomer. First of all shout out to my amazing dog groomer All Elite Animal Care and Grooming my dog has never looked better. So when we went there we had never been to this all place but we decided to give them a shot and we're glad we did. It is called the The Halal Hut located in centereach on Middle country road. It is right behind the newish Dunkin' donuts The boy child has a headache so he didn't feel like coming out with us so we picked up some fried chicken for him. He had some and said it was delicious. We ordered my daughter two empanadas one gyro and one chicken. They are full of filling and pretty good... That's right I took a bite of each. We did not expect them to be as large as they are so we also got her a gyro. She'll save one of them for lunch tomorrow. Like many other halal places it's a build your own. So when you look at her gyro please note there is no lettuce or tomato because she doesn't enjoy that but they offered peppers and onions that she loves. I got a spicy chicken platter over rice. Covered in white sauce and with a little bit of the spicy red sauce. Traditionally from the halal places I go to the red sauce is very thin. This one was almost like a tomato sauce consistency and a chunky one at that. It's pure fire.... Meaning it's both spicy and awesome. We will add this to a list of places that we will definitely go back to. In speaking with the owner guy he told me they're opening up a new location in Stony Brook soon.

Had a quick to go dinner tonight and it was delicious! The food is all laid out like chipotle and you tell them what you’d like. I got gyro cubes, lettuce, 2 kinds of rice, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, hummus (homemade and great) and the white sauce. They had lots of other sauce options. All of that for only $10 & change, enough for 2 meals for me. Super tasty. Can’t wait to go back. It’s on 25 next to Dunkin’ Donuts. And for those that don’t care for greek/halal, they have fried chicken, Philly cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches and tenders. I’ve been driving by this place for years, glad I finally stopped in. Oh, and the young man behind the counter was so helpful, polite and friendly- a real natural with people.

The food is delicious! I had the spicy chicken over rice, my wife had the shrimp over salad and my son ate the chicken fingers while we all shared some French fries. I couldn't stop eating it was so good. The Masala fries have a nice kick, the chicken was tender, the veggies in our dishes were tasty and fresh. My wife finished her food in one sitting. Eventually, I pushed myself away from the table. Man, was it hard to do. The staff was very nice and pleasant. My order was to go but while in the restaurant I saw that it was clean, bright with a cool modern design. I will definitely be going back a lot. Reasonable prices for delicious and fresh food. TIP: Park in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot.
